FACULTY OF PETROLEUM AND PETROCHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Introduction
The Faculty of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering of Hakim Sabzevari University offers an unparalleled education with equipped learning environments, hands-on lab, and internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Now, students can major in Petroleum Engineering and Petrochemical Engineering at the undergraduate level, and then can continue on for a master s degree. The Faculty of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering was established in 2008. It consists of two sections, including Petroleum and Chemical Engineering departments. The faculty aims at providing high-quality educational and research training programs. In undergraduate programs, students can be admitted to either the chemical or petroleum engineering majors where the faculty provide them with the best possible preparation to enter the industry. The laboratories for petroleum and chemical engineering, and the computer center are equipped with advanced facilities. Currently, over 400 BSc and 20 MSc students are studying at this faculty. The faculty members dedicate their time and effort to education for nurturing skilled engineers and leaders. They are also directed toward producing knowledge to create sustainable solutions for realizing a prospering society.
Departments
Chemical Engineering
Chemical engineering is an engineering field which deals with the study of operation and design of chemical plants as well as methods of improving production. Chemical engineers develop economical commercial processes to convert raw materials into useful products
Petroleum Engineering
Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of Hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas.
Polymer Engineering
Polymer Engineering is generally an engineering field that designs, analyses, and modifies polymer materials. Polymer engineering covers aspects of the petrochemical industry, polymerization, structure and characterization of polymers, properties of polymers, compounding and processing of polymers and description of major polymers, structure property relations and applications.
