The department of Materials and Polymer Engineering of Hakim Sabzevari University was established in 1377 and in the first step, offered associate program in materials with a focus on casting for students.
Because of the society needs, in 2008, industrial metallurgy as one of the material engineering fields, was approved in the Faculty of Engineering and the recruitment of students in this field has been started. Also, in 2009, the permission to offering the master’s program was also granted to the material and polymer engineering department. In 2022, Polymer Engineering as a independent department became separated of the Material Engineering Department. Currently, the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering of Hakim Sabzevari University is training students in the bachelor’s level in materials engineering with an industrial metallurgy orientation and a master’s level in the selection and identification of engineering materials.
