Introduction
Hakim sabzevari is one of the most prestigious public universities located in east of Iran and our department is one the best.
Department of Mathematics was established in 1987 and is one of the four eldest departments in the university. It got promoted to a faculty in 2010-2011 academic year.
In recent years, it has developed and extended a lot. Three fields of Mathematics teacher training, Applied and Pure Mathematics in Bachelor level were renamed as Mathematics and Application with slightly changes in syllabus.
Currently, 272 undergraduate students and 93 postgraduate students are enrolled.
Our department aims at training researchers in various Mathematical and Statistical areas. We are proud that our professors are outstanding researchers.

Departments
Pure Mathematics
In 2005, admission of students in master's degree of pure mathematics got started in Algebra, Analysis, Geometry and Topology, Combinatorics and Graph theory. Since September 2012, the faculty began its work at highest level of postgraduate education by admitting doctoral students.
Statistics
In 2009, the Department of Statistics was set up with 45 undergraduate students and currently has about 100 undergraduate students and ongoing master's degree in Statistics in 2013. These days, the department accepts master students in Mathematics Statistics field. From 2019, the Statistics Department has accepted the undergraduate students in Statistics and Educational Assessment.
Applied Mathematics
The postgraduate activity of the faculty began with admission of students in the master's degree in Applied Mathematics in two majors of Operations Research and Numerical Analysis in 2000. Finally, in 2014, admission of students in master's degree of Computer science launched in Decision Sciences field.
