Introduction

Islamic studies refers to the academic study of Islam include the historical study of Islam, Islamic civilization, history of the Muslim world, Islamic law, Islamic theology and Islamic philosophy. Generally, specialists in Islamic Studies concentrate on the detailed, academic study of texts written in Arabic within the fields of Islamic Theology, Islamic Law, and the Qur’an and Hadith. The Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies of Hakim Sabzevari University which was established at 1987 offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs for interested students.

Departments

Philosophy &Islamic Wisdom

The Islamic philosophy and wisdom focuses on the systematic study of the Muslim intellectual tradition based on divine revelation, religious belief, and philosophical developments. In this studies that are rooted in the knowledge of the Qur’an and Prophetic Tradition, students investigate various topics that emerge from the pillars of faith, articles of faith, jurisprudence, ethics, spirituality, and philosophy.

Jurisprudence & the Fundamentals of Islamic Law

The Islamic Law studies concerned with the education of the body of religious law that forms a part of the Islamic tradition.It is derived from the religious precepts of Islam and is based on the sacred scriptures of Islam, particularly the Quran and the Hadith.

Quranic & Hadith Studies

Qur'anic studies is the academic study of the Quran, the religious scripture of Islam.

Arabic Language & Literature

The Arabic Language course will teach students how to understand and speak basic Arabic. It will also introduce them to the foundations of spoken Arabic.The courses facilitate their studies and their work beyond.

Law

The Law studies concerned with the education of a set of rules that are created and are enforceable by social or governmental institutions to regulate behavior

Islamic Knowledge

This program explores the content and structure of Islamic belief, the nature and modalities of theology in Islam. The Creed is then analyzed more theoretically in its major components: the lordship and divinity of God, the mediation of the Messenger, the servitude and ethics of the believers.
